The Kettuvallom (Houseboat) representing a unique heritage, kettuvalloms of Kerala are from local crafts and are 24 meters long. It took great skill and meticulousness to construct these giant boats by tying huge planks of jackfruit together without using a single nail. Today, these boats traditionally used to transport goods have been adapted and are luxuriously furnished houseboats become very popular with tourists. A kettuvallom usually has the bedrooms and several bathrooms, an open bar, a bridge, a small kitchen and a crew comprising oarsmen, a cook and a guide.
